How would you explain Eviden to your friend in 3 sentences?

We are an IT company that specializes in digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud and high-performance computing. Eviden is a pioneer in decarbonization services and products and is committed to becoming net-zero by 2028. 


In Switzerland, we have five offices in Zurich, Basel, Bern, Nyon, and Vevey and around 500 employees who work on projects for clients across a variety of different industries: from finance and banking to healthcare and life sciences, to projects with the government in the public and defense sector.

How can I grow as a developer at your company (career paths and learning opportunities)?

At Eviden, training and development of our employees is central to what we do. In addition to a large e-learning platform, we offer individual development, depending on the performance and career goals of our employees. 


Employees have the opportunity to continuously increase their area of responsibility and plan their career in the long term, depending on their interests and area of expertise.


We have different career paths for different roles. The possibility to develop and evolve into new roles is a topic that constantly accompanies and focuses us at Atos. Taking on more responsibility and developing your career in a certain direction is covered by our Learning & Development Center as well as by our Individual Development Planning.

Do you prefer always writing your own software for everything or use frameworks if they fit?

This is really dependent on the project and the team you are working with.

What are your key values and what are some daily work examples of them?

At Eviden in Switzerland, our work-life balance is very important. We are encouraged to ensure we don’t work overtime and take all of our holidays planned for that year. We also have a well-being voucher of 200 CHF to spend per year on something of our choosing, such as a fitness studio membership, nutrition, or sports equipment. We also have some super comfy areas in the office for taking a break during working hours, as well as a football table and a quiet room with a bed in it for taking an afternoon nap! 

How diverse are your teams? What is the typical team size and structure?

Our teams are really diverse, we have people from all over the world working at Eviden in Switzerland so it’s the ideal opportunity to practice your language skills! Depending on the project you are working on, you’ll get the chance to also work with other teams at other locations around the world. We value the opportunity for people from different backgrounds and cultures to work together, as it leads to great ideas and innovation. 


The size and the structure of the team is really dependent on the project you are working on, it can vary from anything between approx. 3 and 30 people. There tends to be a mix of specialists and generalists in each team. 

Do you offer any helpful initiatives for parents with young children?

We offer one additional week of 100% paid vacation for fathers, mothers get 100% paid maternity leave for 16 weeks. Parents have the opportunity for flexibility during work time, including unpaid leave and part-time work possibilities, to ensure that all little Eviden juniors are well looked after.

What is your remote work policy?

Eviden is always generous with the option of working remotely and we are well setup to perform the same tasks from wherever we are based. Nevertheless, it is fun to go to the office from time to time, especially because it gives you the chance to catch up with your colleagues in person and have a free coffee. 

If you do Agile - how is your agile process & release cycle? How much coding vs meetings/planning?

It really depends on the project, but we mostly use the principles from Agile. Our sprint cycles are usually between 2 and 4 weeks, depending on the complexities of the system and project we are working on. Release cycles can be longer, depending on the client’s sign-off procedures. 

Do you have some in-house tech workshops or hackathons? Is there an educational budget?

We sometimes participate in external workshops and hackathons, and we have an educational budget. 

Can I work on my projects or open source for a part of time?

Yes absolutely, if this is part of your self-development goal and training program for your next career goal.

What do I need to do to buy a 50$ educational book on company expense?

Firstly, we would advise you to have a look at our online “Eviden University” to see if the subject is covered there. You might even find courses with externally recognized certifications which relate to the desired topic free of charge.

Otherwise, you can take a look with your supervisor and once approved, you can get it reimbursed through the Eviden expenses tool. 

💼 How does the interview process at Eviden look like?

This depends on the job which is being applied for, but it usually involves a brief telephone call with our recruiter, then a first and second stage interview, where possible this will normally take place face to face. You might also be required to complete a short task which demonstrates your skills related to the job requirements.
