Can I choose the hardware? What is your coding setup (IDE, OS, Build server, Cloud provider)?
Yes, you can choose your hardware if it will be a Microsoft, Mac or Linux laptop. Same goes for your mobile phone, you can choose brand.

How can I grow as a developer at your company (career paths and learning opportunities)?
We have an established career development plan for our employees. You decide in which direction you want to move professionally. Will it be the specialist, MVP, people leader, management or community builder role - it is on you what you want. It is also possible to move to different units or departments.
Do you prefer always writing your own software for everything or use frameworks if they fit?
We like doing both. We always do retrospectives after each project and see how we can improve and if we can copy the concept with adjustment to similar customer needs.

How diverse are your teams? What is the typical team size and structure?
We cover over 69 different nationalities at Nordcloud. Our team consist of a max. of 16 people with one team lead. If our teams become bigger we split the team into two smaller groups with a new team lead.

If you do Agile - how is your agile process & release cycle? How much coding vs meetings/planning?
We are advocates for agile and DevOps and always focus on delivering high-quality products quickly and reliably. However, the maturity of those principles and processes heavily depend on the customers and the projects needs. We are actively educating customers on those topics and improving workflows and processes where possible. So there is no finite answer to this because different projects have different levels of agile and DevOps maturity.
Do you have some in-house tech workshops or hackathons? Is there an educational budget?
We have tech break out rooms where people present the latest tech updates and you can participate if you want to. We also have a tech monthly where people can present any tech topic they find interesting. For each employee we have a training budget for educational purpose.
Can I work on my projects or open source for a part of time?
No, not during working hours.
