DevOps Engineer (80 - 100% - all identities and backgrounds)

With around 180 employees, Switch supports Switzerland's universities, research institutions, and critical infrastructure organizations on their way to a secure and trustworthy digital age. With innovative IT services, secure infrastructures, expert advice, and the networking of relevant specialist communities, we help our customers effectively and efficiently use the opportunities offered by digitization. Our Trust and Identity department is a group of twelve working in several small teams on the applications to deliver a range of services including Switch edu-ID, eduroam, Switch Sign, and IAM. We operate on DevOps principles; specifically, we are responsible for the design, development, and operations of those services and also deliver customer solutions and advanced support and consultancy. Our services need to be highly available and secure. We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer in a new specialist team to create and operate a platform for the delivery of Trust and Identity services for the Swiss education sector. We need someone with deep technical know-how who can take initiative and work closely with trust and identity service teams to enable seamless and reliable continuous delivery. - Knowledge of and interest in privacy-preserving digital identities. - Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization technologies. - Experience in operating a highly available SQL-based database system and/or LDAP user directory (we use PostgreSQL and OpenLDAP). - SRE or large scale service provider operations background.
