Requirements
Must:
- University degree or equivalent in telecommunications, communication systems, or comparable field with a strong understanding of IP networks and protocols
- Experience working with Cisco/Arista routers and switches, and firewalls, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Deep knowledge of IP networking-related protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, VLANs, QoS, and DNS, and familiarity with network security principles
- At least 5 years of professional experience in operating carrier-grade IP networks
- Knowledge of LTE/GSM mobile network technologies and the roaming industry is a plus
- Dynamic, communicative, and customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable service
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; extra languages are a plus
- Willingness to work in Bern, Switzerland
- Open to Swiss and EU nationals, and holders of a valid Swiss work permit
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and develop the IPX transport services and systems
- Implement and manage IP transport access links, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to customers and peers
- Improve the IP access infrastructure supporting IPX services, ensuring reliable performance and scalability
- Proactively monitor the IP access network and manage capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues
- Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently
- Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties
