Systems Engineer

- Have completed higher education in computer science (HES) or possess equivalent training/experience - At least 5 years of hands-on experience in system engineering within complex and heterogeneous IT environments - Hands-on experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches and tools, particularly Ansible - Strong programming skills, including Python, shell scripting, and PowerShell - Proficiency in the three main operating systems: Windows, macOS, and Linux - Experience with container technologies, in production or research environments - Strong knowledge of software license management - Experience working with IT governance, security, and compliance requirements - Solid experience handling large storage systems and working with common storage access protocols - Practical experience with data center infrastructure, including racks, servers, networking equipment, and hardware lifecycle management - Understanding of CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure and deployments - Thorough understanding of the OSI network model Nice-to-Haves: - Experience working in a research context, particularly with workloads - Previous experience providing technical leadership, mentoring colleagues, or managing infrastructure projects - Track record of leading complex deployment assignments - Understanding of Swiss and European data protection laws and the Swiss legal framework
