Can I choose the hardware? What is your coding setup (IDE, OS, Build server, Cloud provider)?
- We have a “choose your own device” Policy and suggest different models that we have been successful with – be it Microsoft, Apple, or Linux based devices.
- We work mainly with IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio Code (free to choose)
- We work with AWS, Azure, and GCS
- We mainly use GitLab as Build server (depending on client it can be different)

- We are a growing company with increasing project demands and therefore always looking for new developers and to strengthen our skills. Our software solutions feature a broad technology stack and require various set of engineering skills - from the classical backend and frontend programming to specialized technology areas, such as cloud engineering, data engineering, digital platforms, and intelligent business automation. This provides a perfect environment for developers who are looking to broaden their skill and experience.

Do you prefer always writing your own software for everything or use frameworks if they fit?
- In our projects, we rely heavily on available open-source frameworks, such as Spring Boot for the backend development or on modern single page application web frameworks, such as Angular, Vue or React for the frontend development. Additionally, we often utilize many other modern open-source technologies and solutions, such as Confluent Platform, Elastic or Flowable to implement specific application use cases to handle real-time data flows or intelligent business automation.

How diverse are your teams? What is the typical team size and structure?
- We host members of many different nationalities and operate globally
- The size of the team depends on the Projects, but typically consist of a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Software Architect, several (3-5) Devs, Requirements Engineer / Business Analyst, UX/IxD Specialist, Test Manager or Tester

- We generally support our employees by offering a flexible work model and trust them to plan their work and private life accordingly
What is your remote work policy?
- We have a Hybrid model that allows you to self-organize your Office and Home Office days. Generally, you can work from home as much as you would like. As a Developer it depends on the Project that you are working on. We work closely with Government and Financial Institutions who can require 1-2 days onsite.
If you do Agile - how is your agile process & release cycle? How much coding vs meetings/planning?
- We always work agile and believe in a correct implementation of SCRUM in our customer projects. Usually, our projects follow 2- or 3-weeks sprints with regular and continuous software releases. We hold as little meetings as required, however we stick to standard SCRUM ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, sprint review and retrospective sessions to ensure a high quality of delivered software and to meet customer expectations. Also, we encourage our developers to actively participate in the solution design and exchange with project stakeholders.
Do you have some in-house tech workshops or hackathons? Is there an educational budget?
- Yes, we offer Lunch and Learns (an employee holds a TED talk during lunchtime and mimacom provides the attendees with free lunch)

- We have topic oriented "Guilds" where Projects can come from

- Education and personal growth of our employees is always welcomed and fully supported. All you need to do to buy an educational book or a course is to speak to your mimaCoach and to create an education request in our internal IT system.
💼 How does the interview process at mimacom look like?
- It starts with an informal conversation with our TA Specialists just to see if the most basic things are aligned. After that you have a cultural, a technical and a management Interview. usually we are able to go through all of the process within 2-3 weeks.
