Helio connects the idle/excess computing power of data centers and clouds worldwide with the demand for large-scale computing workloads like 3D rendering, AI, and HPC.


We're doing this carbon-aware. This means we shift workloads to DCs with the best carbon footprint, price, and capacity to execute the workloads for our customers with the best price, scale, and the lowest emissions.

  • You can choose the hardware (most employees have a MacBookPro).
  • OS / IDE is also flexible.
  • We use Gitlab as a Build server.
  • We are multi-cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS).

Yes, as a startup, we have many possible career paths for developers like:

There are several learning opportunities, as we, as a company, learn more every day.

Do you prefer always writing your own software for everything or use frameworks if they fit?

We prefer using existing frameworks and writing our stuff on top.

How diverse are your teams? What is the typical team size and structure?

Our teams are - unfortunately - not very diverse. 2 women and 9 men.

The teams have currently 2-5 members and no heads.

Employees are directly reporting to the C-level / founders.

Working hours are very flexible.

What is your remote work policy?

You can work full-time remotely, but we usually come to the office for 1-2 days a week for more creative work and interaction.

If you do Agile - how is your agile process & release cycle? How much coding vs meetings/planning?

  • two-week sprints
  • daily releases to prod
  • not many meetings (1 planning at the beginning of the sprint)

Do you have some in-house tech workshops or hackathons? Is there an educational budget?

This is quite flexible. Currently, there is no need from the team for it, but if it changes, we're happy to do workshops/hackathons.

What we're doing on a more regular basis are team retreats and off-sites.
