How can I grow as a developer at your company (career paths and learning opportunities)?
We do offer a great degree of freedom and responsibility for every individual team member. Everyone is welcome to contribute ideas and help to get them to take shape. Every year, you're allocated a personal education budget which includes both time and money - you're free to spend it in what you think is the best way. As a small team with much experience, we also love to learn from each other to grow together as a team.
Do you prefer always writing your own software for everything or use frameworks if they fit?
If existing frameworks exist we don't reinvent the wheel - if requirements demand a custom solution we won't shy away from building it.

We believe in a healthy mix between on-site collaboration in the team and remote work.
If you do Agile - how is your agile process & release cycle? How much coding vs meetings/planning?
For prducts we develop at avega, we use an agile methodology based on Kanban. Deployments and releases happen on demand, at office hours, using CI/CD. We do have a blog post on this topic if you would like to dive into the details.
Do you have some in-house tech workshops or hackathons? Is there an educational budget?
- There is a generous eductional budget (time as well as money) that you decide how to spend
- Once a quarter, there is an innovation day where you get to propose or choose the topic to work on during the day
Can I work on my projects or open source for a part of time?
Yes, we both support open source work as well as 20% non-billable time to be allocated by yourselves. We also have an innovation day once per quarter where you get to choose the topic to work on during the day.
