SwissDevJobs: 2022 Year in Review

Year 2022 has been a wild ride, maybe not as crazy as 2020, but still full of swings in the job market. Time for a quick summary:

Our platforms are currently active in Switzerland, Germany, the UK, the US, the Netherlands, and Romania, and have reached a total number of over 120,000 monthly users (more than double compared to 2021). Software Engineers & other tech specialists can pick from over 2,800 active job openings.

Although, 2022 has been tough for many of us, because of lots of changes in the global economy, but the demand for senior engineers has remained high. With the recent lay-offs and hiring freezes, it seems that the balance in the job market is shifting back towards employers, though.

One thing we're expecting to see in 2023 is the ongoing debate about remote work. Some companies are keen to get their employees back in the office, but many developers only want to work remotely now. If your company still allows flexible home office, you have a big advantage in the fight for the best tech talents. To put it into perspective: jobs with the fully remote option receive up to 4 times more candidates compared to offers without this possibility.

With the focus on grasping the current state of the IT job market, our Team collected over 4600 answers from the tech community and analyzed the data from more than 1500 job postings on our platforms. The result was “Transparent IT Job Market Report 2022” which covers topics like remote work, 4-day workweek, reasons for job switching and many other spicy insights.

In 2023, we plan to continue helping the tech community and onboard even more companies on our transparent job boards. On top of that, we also have some new initiatives which we want to grow this year:

One of them is the Talent Directory, where candidates can create their profiles and get matched to the best job offers automatically. We also plan a UI-revamp to polish the interface a bit (because it got messy in some places).

Our aim with SwissDevJobs is to become the go-to place for tech talents where you can find not only jobs, but also information about companies, tech events, and have access to communities and salary statistics.

We are very grateful to be able to work with a talented and passionate team that makes all of this possible.
